Extreme climate events become more and more frequent. And the pressure to reduce emissions, land - & resource use is rising. While the food ingredients in our food industry are well established and cheap, their footprint is high, and so is their dependence on consistent climate conditions.  

Over the past years, consumers have become increasingly conscious about their food consumption. This very positive development has challenging implications, however. Consumers not only demand more nutritious, but also more sustainable food. This combination is not straightforward to get right with no compromises on taste, mouthfeel and texture.

Prevo is empowering the food system with land- and climate-independent agriculture

We utilize microalgae as the all-in-one nutritious crop of the future, grown in massive amounts anywhere in the world, requiring very little land-footprint and resources

1. Cultivation

A microalgae seed is introduced into a steel tank and fed with sugar beet molasses, often disacrded by sugar makers, allowing us to reduce costs significantly. A small amout of minerals is added and air is bubbled in the fermenter as the microalgae thrives on Oxygen.

After five days only, very large amounts of microalgae are harvested. In a 200 m² facility, we can make 40.000 Kilograms. The microalgae biomass is packed with nutrients exceeding any source on Earth in nutritional value.

We run a special patented process that is the first to turn microalgae into food raw material, without sacrificing any of it's value. Our approach makes it possible to finally bring affordable nutritious microalgae ingredients to the world's table.
